I have to respectfully disagree. He makes a ton of sense for Obama. Evan Bayh and Tim Kaine just don’t fill the obvious voild Obama’s going to have with swign voters. He needs someone with strong foregin policy and experance to offset his lack of.

Gov Palin has responded with a point by point refutation of all of the accusations made against her.

Neither Andrew Halcro, who lost the 2006 gubernatorial race against Palin and has slandered against her in his blog ever since, nor Walt Monegan who claimed he was wrongfully terminated, has made any effort to counter the refutations.

In a few weeks, this will most likely be a distant memory.

The quotes Ben Smith used were the result of his own research not ones I gave him. They were not my “proofs.” You are correct to the extent that Truman and Dewey accused one another of being tools for domestic communism but that can’t be seen other than through the lens of us being on the brink of WWIII with Soviet communists. I would recommend you read my book after which you will never again write something like this: “With the exception of a few statements on the Marshall Plan or the Truman Doctrine, Truman’s campaign focused on domestic issues which he thought would distinguish him from the Republican amongst the union members, blacks, farmers, and liberals whom he was trying to lock down.”

But other people are undecided. This is, btw, I think where the role of race is most evident. I think there are a lot of voters who are disillusioned with the Republicans, but are wary of voting for Barack Obama, because all of the various accusations and rumors and so forth. Simple answer to your question re Chris Cilizza: He wants McCain to lose the election, so obviously he (and his newspaper, Washington Post) downplay Palin, and tout those standard bearers who will likely bring McCain to defeat.

Should be no mystery there. The major MSM outlets (favoring Obama) are doing and will do the same thing, that is, until Palin is finally picked and the public frenzy over the Palin story will force them to cover her as they should.

I wouldn’t count out Diane Benson at all. Berkowitz has to beat her first before he has a shot at anyone else. The person with the most money is not always the winner, especially in Alaska. Ironically, Parnell is trying to ride the very popular governor’s skirttails but the one candidate most like Governor Palin is Diane Benson: honest, transparent and has a backbone. The people of Alaska are fed up with good old boys, no matter what letter is next to their names, and are very much ready for a change. Diane Benson is the obvious answer.
